I have a '99 Taurus that will power up everything, but won't turn over. Could it be my solonoid?...starter? Where are they located and how to remove them, Please!!!!

When you say "powers everything up", do you just mean the lights, radio and such? Or do you mean the engine turns over but will not start? Or is it there is no noise from engine? These can be 3 different things. First have the battery checked. The lights and radio can come on and the battery not be strong enough to start the vehicle. If it cranks and no start, need to know if there is spark and fuel. If there is no noise at all from the engine, check battery, then starter.

I have this problem with my 91 Geo Metro also --- battery operated accesories turn on, but turn the key to start, and nothing.. a buzz that indicates (in my opinion) a pump activating, or the starter motor maybe.. but nothing happens... The last two days, this only happened if I tried to start the car when it had recently been running (hot engine).. This morning, after sitting all night - it woulldnt start.
Could it be the battery? or maybe an ignition coil that overheats?
