Well, i was an active member of the car modeling forum here on AF but i have found a new hobby besides the 1/24 car moddeling and that is 3d car modelling. So here is the second 3d car model i made, it will be tuned with a custom bodykit :naughty: .

3dmax is expensive. I suggest you buy lightwave or xsi. And also you can get them really cheap at ebay that includes video tutorials and other bonuses. It's not hard to learn. It took me 2 months to learn and model a car in lightwave and now it takes me around 20hrs to make one now. 2 hours a day and you can finish a car model in 2-3 weeks if you're really enthused about the car you're making.

@ xXRyCe_R0CkEtXx ;
Most of the things i learned through the tutorials suplied with 3d studio max, then i did some tutorials found on the internet. And offcource practicing alot.
@ raytracer2k2 ;
I finished this one in a month with around 2 - 3 hours work a day, the main parts where done within 2 weeks but the tweaking of errors and adjusting the materials took another 2 weeks :tongue:
@ remus_nl ;
If you realy want to start modelling in 3d then i suggest you begin with some free 3d programs, or some trial's of the expensive programs. Do some tutorials in them and see if 3d is your thing. If your still interested in it after that seek out a place to buy a good 3d program.
