Hey sup! Ok well my friend is swappin a zc motor in his ' 90 crx DX model. Well he's almost done with it...the wiring is done and the mounting. All he have left is the linkage and the axles. Anyways he started the motor just to see how it is and he's runnin off the headers. All of the sudden he sees flames on the floor under the car!! I asked him how in the hell did that happen? He doesn't even know and i would also like to know . SO what went wrong? I mean the car and everyone else is fine ( thank god ) its kinda weird how the floor was in flames. It came out of the headers. So please help? Thanks

Could be a bad air to fuel mixture or it could just be that he was running it from the headers. Maybe that's what the cat does is pretty much saves it from doing that. if it is the cat then maybe i just dont notice flames coming out from the back of mine or somethin because i have a gutted cat.:p

maybe you just sparked up some unburnt fuel on the ground and it lit up.

The cat doesn't stop fire from shooting out your tail pipe. It breaks down the exhaust gases to reduce the emmissions.

Yeh thats what i was thinkin also. He had a big ass plastic sheet on the floor so it won't get dirty and that whole thing melted!!

coulda been oil on the cars floor, undersides of cars have been known for that, couldve even been that plastic underneath that did it...theres alotta heat that comes out of the header...you dont need flames to start a fire, just something that wants to burn and heat...like a magnifying glass and leaves...

Yeh i get what you're sayin. I just found out yesterday that my friends lil bro didn't see any flames comin out. He said he saw something shoot out but not flames.
