I have a 94 4Runner and my atenna won't go up or down. I can hear the motor running but the antenna won't move. Do I need to buy a new antenna motor or what?

Sounds like your motor is still working. All you need is a new antenna mast.

Sounds like the teeth are gone on the drive that lowers and raises the mast. I think you can replace that plastic strip but it might be a PITA. I would go get a Harada antenna, they make good ones or just just get one that isn't electric. Either way they are easy to replace.

I Had The Same Problem With My Antenna. This Is The Third Antenna On My Car. It Was About Thirty Bucks From The Dealership. I Got It Home And Started On It And It Took Me About 30-45 Minutes To Do It. If You Are Not Quite The Mechanic I Would Let Someone Else Do Itbecause It Is A Little Tricky Trying To Get Up And Back Behind The Passenger Side Wheel Well. My Older Sister Has An Much Newer 4runner Than Mine And Hers Broke Yesterday. When Mine Went And Hers Went They Both Broke From The Mast. But I Am Not Sure What They Charged Her. I Did Mine Myself.
