Fuel injector cross-reference question.

I have a P304 miss code that constantly reappears at low speeds (like coasting up to intersections) I have changed plugs and wires. Put a new fuel pressure regulator on.(the old one leaked and the new one fixed my hot start problem) I've switched coil packs between cyliders a few times to see if the misfire moved with the coil.(nope)
So I'm concluding the injector is acting up at low output.
My question: My 2000 5.3 calls for GM# 17113553.
I have a GM#17113698 injector for 2001-05 5.3. Is this injector going to be OK to try to see if the problem goes away? What differences exist between the two injectors?
They look identical but I'm wondering about electrical and flow rate difference.
Any insight would be very much appreciated.

P304 is for cylinder #4 misfire. Why not try switching that injector with another cylinder to see if the code changes. The other possibilities are a leaking intake manifold gasket. Are you losing coolant? Last, could just need a reprogram of your vehicle's computer to account for drivability issues. Check this site out and have your VIN ready. Once you see if you have any updates available, check with the dealer and see how much it will be. It's worth it, if it solves your problem, with out anymore headache on your part. http://calid.gm.com/vci/VINEntryPre.do
