I have a '94 G20t and I am pretty sure it is loaded. But there are 4 buttons below the air vents...Fog lamp button, Hazard button, Rear defog buton, and the last one is a blank dummy button. Anyone know what the deal is with that?

thats your nitrous button :D lol j/k its probably there to go with the look, cause 3 or 2 buttons might look funny, i don't know but i've seen fully loaded cars with dummy buttons everywhere, not to worry ;)

i have a 2000 g20t and i have the same thing... i asked my dealer about this since i have a loaded car (minus the cd changer and mudflapz)
what he told me is...
its there in case you get a base model g20 w/o the factory fogs, BUT then one day down the road you want to put in the OEM foglights.... the foglight switch would go on that panel, instead of you getting the whole new spindle switch which controls the factory installed headlights/foglights.
the switch just goes on that panel and looks like it was meant to be there from the beginning...
the "t" models still have the blank panel even though they all come w/ fog lights stock because Nissan decided they werent gonna redesign a whole seperate dash just for the "t"

I also have one blank button - I don't have FRONT fog lights. The other three are hazard, defrost, and REAR fog light. Don't you have one in the US???, or is it turned on together fith the front fogs?

As far as I know the G20t does not come with rear fogs, but I guess the Primera does. I guess they both have the same dash. That is why the button on the extreme right is blank on the G20 and on the Primera it is where the rear fog button goes. Thanks, now I know.

wow, my g20 is crazy.
ive got 4 buttons, in order from left to right it goes like this;
dummy button, hazards, rear defrost, and then some weird button that puts out cold air when you hit it.
i have 2 91" P10 G20's the us models.. and i have no idea what the deal is. my friend has a 91 g20 as well.. same thing.

LOL!!!
Of course, if you don't like the arrangement of your buttons (the four we are talking about) you can always rearrange them (including the blank one.
As for rear fog light, your US car may well be prewired :) On the P10 there's a place in the red area of the rear light on the trunk lid (on both sides). My rear fog light only incorporates the passenger side, but it is possible to put a bulb in both sides.
Just some useless information from...

No, we don't have rear fogs. I sure wish we did. I've been wanting them and driving to the SE-R National Convention (The Sentra SE-R is a B13 with the SR20DE and the club includes all SR20 powered cars) in May, we drove through totally blinding rain and fog. We get a lot of blinding rain here in Texas as well (acts of God). So, I've been wanting them.
Adam Koo (don't know if he's joined this forum yet or not) was telling me the UK tail lights (and I guess Europe as well) have the rear fogs built in. They also come with clear turn signal lenses. That would be *so* cool. I'm not really into the clear turn signal lenses, but I'd love the built-in fogs.
re: clear turns: I'm old enough to remember when US built cars all had red turn signal lenses and everyone was paying hundreds of dollars for European tail lights to get the amber turn signal lenses. Now it seems to be going the other way. Funny. :p
How much can you get the P10 tails for?

on my swedish sold p10, instead of a dummy-button, i've got a switch for the headlight washers.. now, with the washers there, the impul grille is out of the question... :( they have to go, sooner, or in my case, later. they really make the front ugly!!
and p10det: check the classifieds, eurolight(...)-topic by me... factory new from my nissandealer

George, I'm sure US p10-s have a place for a rear fog light bulb (see my previous post). You can install them, with a little bit (right!) of wiring job.
P.S. Is that DET under the hood yet? :)

Rear fog lights are super bright red tail lights used in inclement whether so people behind you can see you.
In the instance I ran into driving to Washington, DC for the SE-R convention, we first hit rain so heavy you couldn't see more than 30 meters ahead. Then we hit fog so dense you couldn't see more than 15-20 meters ahead. I turned on my hazzard lights because they are brighter than the tail lights. If I had rear fogs I would have turned them on instead.

I just checked. USDM tail lights do not have a place for rear fogs. :(
The DET will go in next trip into the garage or the one after that (probably the one after that). It's so BLOODY hot that I cannot stay out there for too long at a time without getting ill. :( Last Sunday my helper and I both passed out from the heat.
I need to take the engine off the stand, install the JWT flywheel and clutch, and attach the gearbox. That's it.
Then I have to bolt it in, connect the wiring harnesses, and fab the IC piping. :)

Rear fog lights are nice and all when it's foggy, but remember to turn them off when they're not needed. Have some consideration. ;)

So, George, are you serious about European tail lights? And do you really want clear ones? I think our red P10 (yes, my car can be considered the twin brother of yours, only /duh!/ with different names:)) look good with yellows... You can email me at ales.ee

I am serious, but not at this time. With the DET install, I'm going to need some time to recover financially and otherwise. Between $250 to replace broken parts, and another $100 or so for parts, services, and tools needed, the tail lights will just have to wait a bit.
I agree about the amber lenses. I actually like them and am not really into the clear lens thing. That's probably because when I first started driving, having the amber lenses was the cool thing.
I really want the rear fogs though and integrated ones are the way to go.
Another note on the DET install.....
It didn't go in yesterday. When I was attempting to install the clutch and pressure plate, I discovered the rear of the crank had a metal piece inserted into it that prevents the clutch from contacting the flywheel. Since it was our Independence Day holiday yesterday, I couldn't find any place with a pilot bearing puller (the tool I need to remove this piece). So, I spent the time pulling the front end off the car.
It was still progress, but it would have been nice to weld up IC pipes since I had someone who could weld helping me.
:(

LOL...well, I'm glad you clarified that for me..because since this thread was started I didnt have a clue what was being referred to. I'll accept the "dummy" award if so deserved this time...but, the wording of the original post was about a '94, and really didnt make any sense when compared to the layout on my '01. And no.. I haven't a clue if they are the same or not....why would they be? I'd assume not, if asked outright and to guess.
First... the hazard and defrost buttons are "in between" and not below the vents as stated...my fog lite switch is on the stalk, and there are no buttons under the vent on the far right passenger side. For all I knew.. you all seemed to be talking about the dummy space in the panel housing between the air recirc button and the up/down temp adjustment buttons.
So.. all this said, at least anyone that really cares will now be fully aware of what we are talking about...I think..lol.
Hmmm...some good ideas tho, stated for the use of that spot as a switch for something. Personally, I'd prefer it to wire it so as to activate a sliding partition between the driver and passenger.. like for those long rides when the wife starts getting on my nerves...
