daytime lamps - left turn signal problem

both sides of my daytime running lamps are not working , the daytime running lamps indicator (green) on the console is on (maybe the bulbs are dead but...). when i turn on my headlights and i use the LEFT turn signal it buzzes for a second and it says on ( it doesnt blink). The right turn signal is fine. When my headlights are not on, both turn signals work properly but when i step on the brakes the dashboard lights up. when i let go of the brakes the dashboard lights go off. Is this an indicator to replace my daytime lamps or is it a much more serious problem (which im scared to admit)? what could it be?

This was the response i got:

Hi,
this may just be a bad connection where you do not get a ground and the current from the brake bulbs finds another way to ground through the regular light circuit including the dashboard lights.
The blinker may stay on steady if there is not enough current drawn, again by having to go through another bulb to get to ground.

A good start is to check the wires of the tail light assemblies for corrosion.
If that comes up OK then you will have to trace circuits for bad connections

Did you ever get your problem fixed? I ended up taking out my left tail light and found that the middle bulb socket was charred, some type of short i guess. I am going 2 order new sockets, i see the pair on rockauto for about 26 bucks..Stayy tuned

dealers sucki!!!! a friend works at lexus as service dept rep, he makes over 100 grand a year, all commision!!! i fixed my problem and it didnt cost a penny, i have a trailer harness that uhaul installed, the molex was green and coroded. i just cut each wire 1 by 1 where it was spliced into my brake line harness, and taped the ends, problem solved.. this idea from a guy who said 90 % of these problems are from trailer harness' getting hit with salt and snow and rain..if you have 1 , most likely that is the problem, you can cut it, and if that doesnt solve the problem you can splice it back on... let me know!!!

Had a problem recently on a 94 Yukon where the right turn signal flashed 5 times faster than it should(out of control), and found the problem to be a burnt out bulb, right turn signal bulb. Obviously the power travelled down the wire to the next available source. My suggestion is to verify ALL bulbs, fuses, and electrical connections are functioning properly before looking elsewhere. Just as texpert found, a simple electrical/ground problem.
