I shot my first real gun

It was saturday after 5 hours of paintball, my cousin busted out his 40 caliber semi auto smith & wesson glock. It was fuckin sweet. I nailed a two liter bottle from 40 yards on the first try, it was awesome. I saw the flames from the explosion come out of the sides of the gun, then I saw the water bursting out of the bottle as the gun was kicking back. What a rush. But I couldnt imagine having any accuracy at rapid fire. That thing kicked back so hard. I want a gun now!!!!!! Im glad we shot the gun after paintball though, or else I might have been bored all day with the paintball guns. It was awesome, I cant wait to shoot a gun again.

S&W or glock? or both...

both make great guns, but there's a bit of difference in the overall performance of each... I love shooting, just make sure you do all of the safety stuff as well as the fun stuff.

I was actually born in England, spent the first 3 years of my life in new hampshire, and vermont, then ohio for one year, then texas for 7 years, california for 5 years, hawaii for 4 and a half, and now ohio for 9 months.. next on my list... FLORIDA.

If I dont move back to Maui, Im buying a gun and staying in Florida. Havent you ever shot a gun OZ? I thought I was the last one. Its awesome. Not just for rednecks.

Can you use Smith & Wesson bullets in a glock? I know the bullets were smith & wesson, because the shells say S&W on them.

My same cousin also has another gun (maybe 2 more), I forget what kind, maybe an assault rifle.. that or an AK. I didnt get a chance to shoot it though. Maybe I will ask him to let me shoot it before I leave south carolina.

yes its safe S&W made the round so all .40 cals use them my dad has a nickle HK p7 in .40 cal *drools*

Anyone who thinks guns are bad needs to go shoot some. I have a .22 bolt action, Mosin Nagant 7.62x54 bolt action, SKS 7.62x39 Semi Auto rifle, Ruger 10/22 .22 semi auto, and a .410 break barrel shotgun that my grandmother got when she was 8 years old. Unfortunately I haven't had time to shoot them for a few months.

Yeah, I've shot a 12 guage shotgun and a 20/20 rifle. Hella fun.

Just doing a spot of fishing. Glad to see a few jumped right into the boat. :icon16:

made it to 43 years old before a gun enthusiast friend persuaded me out to the range.Blew a few rounds out of her rugers,first time I've handled a pistol.She's a charming lady, we had a lot of fun, but that's not enough reason for me to want to do it again.

plinking is what you did today just informal shooting of a can or 2.

and .22 lr is a great bullet for plinking its very smooth shoots well no real recoil dirt cheap and you can get so many guns to use it and find one that suits you also alot of the most popular guns have kits convert to it.

I shot a semi-auto version of an m16 once.

pretty sweet. If I end up getting a gun, I'll probably get a .40 cal, and a .22 for plinking. I like the feeling of raw power from the .40. I'm sure there are more powerful guns, but I couldnt only have a .22 w/o much recoil. Plus I like shooting pistols better than big guns. Arcade style!!

I've been to the range a couple times, shot a .40 glock and a Beretta (.45 I believe.) I really wasn't too impressed. To be honest, I grew pretty bored of it rather quickly. They were loud, smelled like ass, hurt my wrists, and required 5 minutes of scrubbing with that orange soap to get all the lead/grit out. Maybe it was the fact that paper targets feel so unrewarding, maybe it was the generally uncomfortable environment of an enclosed concrete building, surrounded by everything from snubbies to assault rifles, or maybe it was the not-so-friendly demeanor of the guy behind the counter giving me the same feeling I get when I'm making a purchase at the liquor store (that sort of guilty, uncomfortable, why are you spending your money on booze and do you really plan to do anything "constructive" with it feeling.) Anywho, maybe down the road I'll pick up one of those .22 Beretta Neos for plinking (supposedly an excellent pistol -- cool looking too.) Or maybe something of the 9mm persuasion at the most. Not really much of a worthwhile purchase though, considering I live in an urban apartment complex, leaving shooting ranges as my only real option. Did I already mention paper targets are boring?

I love shooting guns and hunting! My mossberg 500 with its sabot barrel is pretty much a anti-tank gun! Also enjoy plinking with my ruger 10/22 getting a AR-15 soon.

Hitting the shooting range is a lof of fun. Though, I still prefer hunting. Its the only way to get venison on the table.

A guy next to me at the range once let me shoot his AK-74 knockoff. I've also shot a 12 guage semi auto shotgun, M14, M1 Garand, M1 Carbine (which blew up on me), Ruger Single-Six, an old .22 target pistol, Sig Sauer 9mm, a few really old .22 rifles, and probably a couple things I'm forgetting.

Me, I have been shooting since I was 9, (I am now 17). I am now at the 2005 World Cup Qualification match here in colorado springs at the olympic training center. I shoot air pistol and free pistol. And no, the air pistol is not something that you can buy in walmart. These are strictly competion pistols, the air pistol is shot at 10m, an the free pistol is shot at 50m. (these are one hand hold, yes that is 50m...). I have not qualified for the world cup yet, but there is still one more match tommorow.......And yes, this shooting is at targets...

My dads:
Beretta 92FS 9mm
Browning BDA .380 pistol
Sig Sauer P220 .45, and P228 and .357

Also shot my friends:
.22 bolt action (dunno company)
Bushmaster AR-15 5.56mm
Thompson rifle semi 9mm
S&W .44 revolver, 4506 and 689 .45
And a 12 guage, and this 8 gauge that left a mark on my shoulder for 2 months.

SO yea, they're big on guns.

I was at the Bergen County police firing range, and a man there had a .357 and a .50 Desert Eagle. He let me hold the .357 and shoot the .50 with a full clip. My dad tried it and stopped after 3 rounds because the gun was too big and too powerful lol. THose things are massive.

Me and my dad go hunting and shooting at a pratice range alot. Probably most exciting thing I have shot is my dad's M16. Very Nice.

but the amount of power in your hands doesnt compare. i bought a bushmaster bar-10 in dec. i shoot bullseye at the local range. its something of an experience i can tell you. the amount of skill it takes to keep the the groups tight. my rifle is second tomy woman. in many ways they are the same. both take patience, understanding of the way they operate, treat with respect and many other things. a wise man once told me "your rifle is like your woman, you have to make her come first."

Cheaper? No, you can get just about any soviet block weapon knockoff for less than a decent paintball gun. I know, I own both kinds. Safer? Depends on the owner. IMO the real guns are safer because with the paintball gun, I'm supposed to shoot my friends, though sometimes I don't hear them say "stop!" or "I'm out!" (and I'm not lying, sometimes I just can't hear them).

i dont think i have seen a S&W glock but ok, enyways my first gun was a glock 9mm and a .38 special. I have shot a S&W 9mm, AK-47, 30-30 win and 30-30 marlin, 20 ga., 12 ga., .22, .357 and some others but i cant remember. o yeah a sks the cheap ass chinese one

It's nice to know some other folks like to plink tin cans and punch holes in paper. Our group goes to indoor ranges semi-regularly and there are several women. I have too many firearms to list but 1 of my favorite 4 is my Star .45 compact. It's built like a small Colt 1911. It kicks a bit but is quite manageable. The .357 Colt Python is a straight shooter with .38s or .357s. My .44 mag Smith & Wesson Mountain Gun is as light as the Python and fires .44 Special or Magnum rounds long and straight. we dont have any rifles or guns period down here in aussie/n.zealand. the gov has outlawed them and limited them to police. but whats really fucked up is that people who represent australia in national target match (olympics and others) events cant even practice at a local range. they have to leave the country! i cant wait till i get home!!!!

but hey, you can ride dirtbiuke wherever and whenever you want. road, track, peoples yards, golf courses.....

my fav weapon that belonged to my father, was his .357 ruger blackhawk, single action with a 6 1/2 inch barrel. I had fun firing that.
