greetings

I have an '83 Regal and I posted this question in the regal forum, but, after 22 views and no responses I decided I'd come over here. :banghead:

My problem is, that when I first got the car, the highbeams would flash ( like in a police cruiser) on and off, on and off, but, the low beams worked ok. However, now, the low beams flash when I use them, so, I have to use the high beams, which DON'T flash now.

I have no idea what is causing this.

any suggestions?

thanx

dont know how much help i'll be but...
that does sound real strange. i would personally check the switch first. i just replaced a swith in my kids 97 s-10 that messed up that took me two weeks to find cuz i made it harder then it was. get access to the switch, find out which wire is which and apply 12v directly to the highs or lows and see if you still have flashing lights. hopefully its an easy fix. if you still have flashers then start checking wires. really strange that it switched from one to the other. good luck

hey thanx for the reply timely reply!

I'll try it, but, I'm thinkin I may have to have a special tool to pull the steering wheel off?

ok, ok

I guess I'll just go ahead and replace the switch.
My steering column is loose also, it is tilt wheel, but, it's loose.

Also, the shifter wants to keep going into 2nd gear when I take off hard, guess that could be caused by the loose/weak motor mount? :icon16:

thanx
