I have a 92 Prelude 2nd owner and i'm just about to come up to 50,000 miles. Because of the age of the car I want to get the timing belt changed soon. I was just curious as to what a fair price is. I know this job can be a little pricey.

Thanks

At the shop I work at that would be about $325.00. But we are expensive.

mine was $360, but you should also think about changing the water pump too... be a lot cheaper in the long run

good thought I'll probally end up doing that,
I wish I could find out if the previous owner did this already considering the excellent condition of the vehicle when I bought it. I guess its better to be safe than sorry though

definatly be safe then sorry because a timing belt cost about 350-400 and if it slips it costs about... 1500?

I just called a reputable shop in my area. For the timing belt and water pump i'm looking at 500 even including parts. I trust them but from the prices your telling me it seems a little high

or you can just do it yourself... may take a while, but you can do it.

shop around man. Definitly dont do the cheapest because you get what you pay for. But find a reputable shop thats willing to compete with prices.
