88 camry le dash indicator lights....

88 camry le 4cyl wagon. - dash indicators for brakes and charging both came on at the same time...plenty of brake fluid, alternator charging...what could cause this? how to check and repair? was driving in the rain at the time. verrry annoying. all lights work.

This indicates that your alternator is bad. If you have a digital volt/ohmeter, you can use that to check it. Set it to 20 volts DC and test the battery before starting the car. Touch the 2 probes to the battery posts. Now start the car and retest it. You will find out that it is still at battery voltage or a little bit less. If you don't have a meter, charge up the battery and take the car to an auto parts store that checks the battery and charging system for free. It's time for a new or rebuilt alternator. This is an easy DIY repair.
