hey i was just wondering how risky you guys think it is to buy items, car audio particularly, off of ebay. I'm thinking about buying
DE-3000 (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=18797&item=5740220212&rd=1&ssPageName=WD1V) off of ebay and i wondered what you guys all think about it. The persons users 116 feedbacks are all positive but i'm still a lil worried about paying 1300 for somthing because i've heard alot of stories about ppl gettin ripped off......thanks

that looks legit enough
I've bought 2 headunits, 2 subs, 1 amp, and 2 sets of speakers off of ebay and never had a problem, and that's just audio. I've also bought hundreds of dollars worth of other equipment off of ebay and never had a problem.
The chance that you'll get screwed is very low, but of course there is still a chance. Most of the time when people get screwed it's when the equipment is used and sold as-is and the seller claims it works, but when you get it it's broken. Since this is new there shouldn't be a problem.

Looking through his feedback, that guy has sold a bunch of electronics, amps and stuff... I would say go for it. I'm not sure, but maybe paying with credit card would give you some protection...?

only thing is the warranty shit is usually really shady on ebay. like it doesnt appear that this amp has any form of warranty, and even if it did, odds are they would say its void unless installed by professional authorized dealer. but hey when its a US amps amp, id say odds are you wont have a problem (if it is in fact brand new). but looks good to me 100% feedback is huge plus. go for it if a warranty isnt a huge deal to you.
oh yeah and what were you gonna use this for again? to desrtoy the world? haha what kinda subs are you running man

it says in the description that it has a 1yr warranty through him, and it lists all the details and how everything would work if warranty work needs to be done

haha ohh yeah ok didnt recognise the SN.. and yeah sr20 didnt see the warranty stuff ill have to look again.
HU is decent, btu if youre droppin that much for bass, im surprised youre not payin more for a HU. i was expectin an alpine w/ screen hah. or at least somethin with 5 volt preouts. (didnt see them on that link if they are in fact on that HU) personally im a huge alpine fan, if you havent already bought the HU.
5x7s will give pretty good SQ for the money prolly, but i highly doubt youll hear anything over the bass. crazy components might keep up, or a couple sets of crazy components anyways. but i guess if you dont have the money for awesome midbass drivers, then you might as well just stick with those 5x7s.
and let me repeat this from before. 5 ov2 12s youre crazy. youll shake blocks at a time im guessing. ha

Dear gonterman22, (thats my ebay name)
You asked:
"Since you don't work for US Amps, then if the SAT feature finds that the amp malfunctioned due to manufacturing defects, wouldn't the warranty be invalid and you wouldn't get it fixed for free because you didn't buy it from them?"
it would be free to you. isn't that all that matters?----That was the response he emailed me....
does anybody else think that seems a lil shady or am i readin into it too much???

hm
that's a little weird
honestly I don't think it will be an issue though, I've only heard of 1 blown US Amps in my life, and it was because the guy accidently shorted the terminals together. They're very reliable amps. The guy might be taking the risk himself, maybe he's willing to actually give his own warranty, and if the problem is due to a manufacturing defect he'll pay for the repairs out of his pocket. It seems doubtful, but considering how low the chance of this happening is, and how many extra amps he would sell by offering a warranty, it might be true.

Yeah, I buy a lot on ebay and only recently got bit on a pair of shocks. I am actually trying to resell them.
Like others say, look at the feedback. Personally, if I was going to unload that kind of $$, I'd look for someone with real high ratings and that sells basically but nothing amps and such.
