This is the exact reason I sold my Taco and decided no more off roading in a daily driver.
Damage report: One guy busted his radiator (log in a mud hole went through the front of the truck). Another guy got mud in his engine and threw a rod. Two trucks blew beads in the same mud hole. The truck with the purple flames was the one that threw the rod. Needs a new engine and radiator. These are guys I just wheeled my old Taco with about 3 weeks ago. The purple flames truck was mainly a show truck and he just started taking it off road. He's looking at $6,000 worth of damage. He said he's probably gonna just get rid of the truck and buy a new one, no more off roading for him he says.

I know this isn't Xterra related, but it is 4x4 related. Just a reminder to be careful out there.
I'm glad I wasn't on that trip.

Rule of thumb:
If it was made by 44" boggers, you don't belong in it.
Wheeling is not directly related to breaking shit.
Sometimes it happens, but as far as I am concerned, all that damage could have been avoided and still had a blast on the trail.

Amen to that. I've had more friends mess stuff up in the mud than anywhere else inlcuding a trip to Moab. Mud has claimed the lives of alternators, starters, rack units, gears, transmissions, transfer cases, and now an engine.
I never cared much for mud. Running Tellico in my stock TRD Tacoma made me realize that off roading a daily driver was not for me.
