A '92 S-10 Blazer Starting Problem

The specifics:

'92 S-10 Blazer 4x4, 4.3L 6, TBI, 165,000 miles, tuned up not too long ago, smokes some.

The issue:

At random times, usually not hot, cranks but will not start. Normal cranking, plugged in a spare coil, didn't help. Wait a while, starts right up. Will work for a day or so then do the same thing.

A month or two ago, check engine light came on. When codes checked, a Trottle Position Sensor error was in system, when cleared, check engine did not come back on no problems were observed.

ignition module may be failing. My 93's was just replaced a few months ago for the same reason. Random starting. Got worse very quickly.

What did the tuneup contain?

Tune up:

Plugs, wires, cap, rotor, fuel filter.

Runs great when it starts, instantly fires if it's going to. Just sometimes doesn't seem to get fire.

Timing check with the timing wire unattached?

Air filter?

PCV valve?

Clean the EGR valve?

You think the timing has been checked or you know?

Good call, changed the ignition module last night and so far so good. It hasn't acted up yet.
