GTI Headlights

I need some help. I have a 03 GTI and bought aftermarket headlight assys for both sides. They are the R32 style with the angle eye look. Well I had them installed and the aim is way way off. The body shop doesn't seem to know what they are doing. I need to know what the best way to adjust them is and what the actual adjustments on the headlight assy do. I turn the screws but I can't tell if I'm going in the right direction. Has anybody had problems with these kind of headlights? Seems that on the driver side assy, one of the screw adjustments does not do anything. It just spins and spins. I was just wondering if I got a defective assy or I'm just not doing something right. Also, don't know if I have the correct bulbs either. It shins like an actual beem and I get no light left and right. Just doesn't seem like they work very well for being such a good headlight (so they say).
I'm at the point now where if I can't get the aim right then I will have to put the old ones back in and I hate to do that because they look pretty sweet.
