Fan Pump bad

Apparently the LS uses hydrolic pressure to turn the engine cooling fan. The pulley on this Fan Pump is wobbling and I need to replace it. I don't want it to go out in the middle of nowhere! Has anyone ever done this before? Any suggestions or tips? I'm hoping that the pulley is just bent or its about $350 for the pump. I have to remove the generator before I can get to the pump so any suggestions on removing the generator would be appreciated as well. Thanks.

I would recommend signing up with alldata.com or buying the OEM shop manuals. I wouldn't dare take on any LS job without a knowledge base to go buy.

Check with torrie at ford parts network for parts. www.fordpartsnetwork.com

I have the repair info on CD so I have a pretty good idea what to do. I was hoping that someone with expereince doing this job might have some time saving tips. Thanks for the link, I'll check them out.

Most of the folks I know that had problems went through the dealer with the repair. Check out www.flatratetech.com

lots of ford master cert mechanics great helpful folks there and very accurate. Can't beat the price. FOC free of Charge.

I decided to have a mechanic I trust do the work. I'm running out of time. Thanks for all of the advice.

wise choice. I will be the first to defer the arduous tasks to the certified mechanics esp when it is a critical component.
