What is wrong? Squealing belt when....

I need to know what is wrong.
In the morning when I go to start up my 96 Gand am 2.4L, and I turn the lights on and the heat on high and the rear defroster on, the battery light comes on and then i hear this squealing noise coming from (if sitting in the drivers seat) on the right under the hood. What heck could this be? I really need to know all of what it could be.

My '91 Grand Am had the very same problem. Get the alternator belt tightened or it's going to come apart while you're driving.

Alright, thanks man, I really needed to know. Was your engine quieter after you changed the belt? Like in that area of the engine?

If you mean it didn't squeal anymore, then yes it was quieter. Other than that, same old car but I could actually run the heat without it squealing like a pig.
