Adjusting Idle

I was hoping somebody could help me set my idle back to normal. A few months ago my timing got off, and it made my truck die going into gear. Before I realized that It was a combo of timing/bad IAC, i drilled out the rivet for the factory set idle, and turned it up. Well, now that I have the problem fixed, I get an engine light while I am sitting. It is code 35 for the IAC, but the thing is brand new. I installed it properly, by adjusting it, and followed the break in procedure. I am sure the light is due to the high idle. Its a 4.3 v6 and I would like to know what the idle speed should be, and how I can tell what it's at. Thanks alot

There should be a sticker under the hood that tells you what the RPM should be. To lower the idle, just turn the screw the other way.

The sticker on my truck says that the idle is set by the factory and not adjustable. Also, I have the cluster w/out a tach. If anybody has the factory settings, and way to hook up a factory tach, please help
