Remove ugly decals, paint sunburn?

I'm looking at buying a 99 Zx2, except it has a ugly purple decals running from the front fender to the back.

I've read it's somewhat easy to remove, using a hair dryer, wd-40 and my nails. Except my only concern is that the stock paint around the decal will be faded by the sun, while the under-decal paint won't be faded. It's only 5 years old. What do you think? Your help would be greatly appreciated!

You don't like the decals, you will be un-happy with the faded paint, it's six years old ....what is so special about this car that makes you want to buy it.? IMHO: I would find another car.
FYI: There is also a ZX2 Forum, maybe they would have some opinion/s.

Couldn't it be feasable to wet sand the car after he takes the stickers off? after wet sanding re wax/buff the car. I seen the guy on that show "Trucks" do it.

What color is your car? A 99Zx2 should have a clear coat to seal the paint. I would think that the clear coat would protect the paint from fading. So, just remove the stickers and if the paint under them is brighter than the rest polish it with clear coat rubbing compound then apply some wax and buff the car out. I can't think of anything uglier than bumper stickers running from stem to stern on a car. Use the stickers as a trading ploy to get a better deal. It costs better than $1,000 to get a car painted.
