i kno this boy who has a 1990 crx si hatchback. its a complete frankenstein, he has b16 heads and a b18 block, high compression pistons, dc headers and full exhaust (no cats), cai, and maybe some other small things. but hes runnin all motor, and its a gutted crx so it weights barely over 2000 lbs. also he has a different tranny, i forgot what he said it was exactly, but 1st gear ended at 25 mph.
does anyone else kno a light ass honda with a nice engine swap in it?

there are a lot of Rex's around here with B16 swaps, seems to be the thing to do...and I must admit, they sound really mean when that VTEC kicks in.

My first gear ends at 25 mph. 2nd goes up to about 50, 3rd till I think 85, 4th till 110 and 5th until 135-140 (never took it up that high, just guessing from rpm calculations)

i know of a few. my friend has a 1990 civic coupe with a usdm obd-1 GSR engine in it, my other friend has a red 92 hatch with a b16b(civic type-r motor), another friend of mine has a 1991(i think, not 100% sure on the year but it has stock all wheel disc breaks) crx with a b16a out of an xsi integra(jdm), my other friend has a gunmetal civic coupe with obd-2 GSR b18 in it. and they're all about a 1/2 sec. faster than me in the 1/4 :( except the gunmetal coupe, he can't drive for shit and is stock other than the engine swap and a muffler. the rest all have ecu upgrades done, mostly chipped pr3's, skunk 2 headers, cat-backs, STS, intakes and such. and then there's this random kid in an older red hatch with gunmetal wheels who no one knows, but everyone who's raced him has gotten smoked, even the kid with the type-r motor. my friends estimate him to be running in the mid-low 13's.

A 92-95 Civic hatchback, full interior, with a b18c5 or h22a will run you well into the 13's.
I don't know about the b18c5 tranny, but my h22 tranny runs me 40 in first, 60 in second, 90 in 3rd, and i've gone 120 in 4th with still a bit to go, so i dunno where that one ends.

just over 2000lbs?
CRX dry weight is 1750... curb weight is just over 1800.... so your buddy must be really fat....
as for light assed cars with motor...
my friend had a B18a with CAI and jerry rigged cat back exaust....no passenger seat.... 2050 with him driving less than 2000 with me driving. he was putting down maybe 130 to the wheels... and it was decntly quick....
that is what i am actually looking to do is take a smaller import coupe....rip out the interior and do some bolt ons just to have fun with at the track....
ive been looking at an 88 2door integra for $650 160,000 miles.... runs strong...somthing for me to F*** up that wont put a dent in my pocket. i figure straight pipes out of the manifold (maybe a glass pack to smooth the sound out, like a nice long fart tru ric3) and dump right behind the doors. no interior, CAI, throttle body, no hub caps (paint the rims black, tight) then move the battery to the trunk and anything else i can to help balence it out (i know its FWD but i am looking for a play around track car, not a drag car)....
it would be fun untill i blew the motor....then i could sell it for like 200....lol....but that is down the road a ways...

I would say this goes in the CRX forums.
As for comparisons about gearing. Mine goes to 35 in 1st, 60 in 2nd, and 90 in 3rd, 4th can take me up to 120ish, and I've put it in 5th put I didn't gas much further than 125 because of fear of blowing something up. L8...

yea this boy weighs about 140 lbs no lie lol. but the best race he ever had was against a turbo gsr with a few other mods. he was pushin about 7 pounds and 205 whp. he raced the crx from 40-90 and he won by like a few cars but he also had a few people in the car with him.

My buddy had a b20 block and a b16 head, some internal work, full interior, 5th gen hatch, ran 11's all motor, and daily driven. When VTEC hit, the tires would spin. Craziest car I've ever seen.

Yes on slicks, and I'm serious it was all-motor, no turbo and no nitrous. I don't know exactly what was done to the internals, but this guy is a genious with hondas.

i have a quick question. i was readin something on this mopar site and it says u can keep ur boost up and shift even faster by keepin the gas all the way down and blip the clutch and shift it as fast as u can? does anyone else race like this? i would imagine extreme wear and tear on the engine and tranny and u would probably need new motor mounts?
