Fuel pump queston......

I can hear a very loud whinning noise come from my fuel pump(94civic dx). I do know that is it supose to whine but it just seems like its getting louder and louder..i can hear it from the outside of my car 20 feet away. Anyone know the problem and or solution to this?

Can you hear it just when you turn the ignition on or while the car is running?

And you are sure that it is the fuel pump?
I have never been able to hear a fuel pump while the car is running unless it is an aftermarket high flow pump.

im positive on my gen of civic they are located right under teh rear seats. There is a cover plate over the fuel pump, I am for sure it is the fuel pump. See thats what I think is my problem cause im not really supose to hear my fuel pump. Yeah btw its just an oem pump. I think im just gonna replace it.

Most hondas have them under the rear seats. If it is making excessive noise it very could be going out.

Yes it is under the rear seat.
I have never heard one make noise real loud, they usually just die and don't ever start working again. But I don't know, keep us posted.

Either it could be going out or its something electrical. When my blinker is on i can hear it whine with the pace of the blinker.

Does the car run fine, like accelerating at a green light??
OEM Pumps are very quite.
