Ok. My first objective is this: I am swapping a manual transmission from a 97 S14 into my 95 S14 (also has manual transmission). What am I going to need to do other than bolt it in? Is the wiring hook up the same?
Now my second objective: I am using the manual transmission that comes out of my 95 S14 to put into my friends Automatic 92 S13. What am I going to need besides the Tranny and ECU? Hopefully not the wiring harness right?
All of your help and knowledge is greatly appreciated guys. Thanks a lot.

i'd say do the s13 manual swap first and then take whatever you need out of that 97 to do your swap. btw why are you doing a swap when its already manual? why didn't your buddy just do the swap with the 97?

I think he'S putting the 97 KA into his 95 and I guess he wants to keep the engine with the tranny.

well, that, and the 97 has 60,000 less miles. So thats why I want the 97.

true true.. look for other auto-man swap threads and see what you'll need. as long as both cars have functional trannys then you'll be fine with the parts on the cars

a S14 tranny will bolt into a S14 perfectly. all the sensors will hook up fine too. and theres even the little notch for the crank angle sensor that the S13's don't have. the only thing is that you need the ECU from a 5 speed, and you need a 5 speed fly wheel, and the drive shaft will be alittle longer on the auto. you can get around this by removing a rubber spacer from the back end and it should just squeeze in fine. the S14 tranny will fit in a S13 and visa versa, but they're sensors dont' match up.
