im guessing its the tranny but i have not driven my car for a while since when it drives it jerks making a loud thump and from the outside it comes from the front and just move it a couple inches trying to figure out what it was and the tires will just pause and go again. someone help me but i think it is the tranny since the synchronizers im guessing were going out as well plus what all happens exactly when they go out my gears would grind or somethin in first second and third and i was told it was the synchros

If you try restructuring that in a somewhat coherant structure, with punctuation...I'm sure we could help.

sorry about that I was in a hurry. Ok my car when you drive it just a few inches it jerks and my tires basically just stop and go it is coming from the front which hopefully means that its not the rear differential but i could be wrong. Im basically thinking its the tranny seeming how the synchros were going out already but i was also told that the synchros werent going out and it could be the clutch. So basically i need to know what main things happen with the synchros and why my car jerks like it does thanks for the help

Well synchros cause grinding during shifts...so I don't think it is that.

So you are saying that when start the car, put it in first and start moving forward that the car jerks? Does it jerk violently? Have you driven it more than a few inches? Are you getting any Check Engine lights or flashing lights on your dash?

it jerks pretty rough and it started and the only driving its done that was more than just a little bit to see it happen was i drove it home cause i couldnt leave it at my friends house. and that is why i was told that the synchros were going out it was grinding it the first 3 gears

My car kind of did that when the exhaust gasket between the header and the downpipe develeped a leak but only when I really leaned on the gas petal at low RPM ( <2000 ). After I fixed the leak the problem went away (Strange thing is the check engine light never came on).
If this was combined with bad motor mounts this would probably make a thump with the jerk. So the problem could be with a O2 or MAS sensor and some weird reading that the ECU can't make sense of... Just a thought.

Still havn't said if you have any Check Engine lights.

Also did you do anything to the car recently, any work or anything on it?
