I have lost 1,2 on the heater fan control but have 3,4,5. I need to know what the part is to replace to fix this and also where is it located to get it out easily. I have a 99 Grand Am.

This is the infamous "fan blower motor resistor" issue that nearly every GA owner experiences at some time. The name of the part is the "fan blower resistor" or something to that extent - they should be able to order it for you at a place like autozone or advanceauto, ect. It's a 20 to 30 dollar part. The part is located underneath the console up by the fan blower motor. It's tough to get at, but should only take about 1/2 hour. I'll PM you the adress of a site where you can find better how-to instructions.
