so i got a new cold air intake right. Its powder coated black its by aem it kicks ass. But i dont think i have it together right. Does someone have a picture of theirs or some kinda directions. It was off ebay and none were sent with. It doesnt seem to hard to figure out but i dont wanna mess anything up. I know how to install it and take the old one off but the pipes fitting together is the only ting holding me up.

What makes Injen better? I dont have either. But im considering getting one. And, when you shift do you hear the sucking noise?

ive heard of a number of people who got the AEM and the rubber connectors rotted and the intake fell off. thats was the main reason i got the injen.
as for the sound. its not a blow off valve. the only time you can hear is really sucking is when you are sitting idle and rev the car up. when you get about 4000rpms you can hear it screaming though. sounds mean

Haha, yeah i knew it wasnt a BOV...haha, but thanks for the input on the AEM hoses. Im now leaning more towards Injen.

injen is definitely better, but my maf is actually connected at the bottom of the cold-air closest to the filter (and thats how it was supposed to be) don't ask me, i hear a whistle if i have it b/t 1.5 and 2.5 and havethe gas at about 25%, besides that it starts sucking at 4k and gets mean at 5.5k

If you spend more that $80 on ANY intake you are getting screwed!!!!!!!!! They all do the same thing. All your paying for is a name.... Thats It!!!! If you really want to save your money got to Home Depot, and piece one together from plumbing. Or go to an exhaust shop and have them bend you some piping. The gains you gt from an intake dont do shit for your car anyways.

the isnt always true. first, if you go buy an ebay intake, 75% of the time, you will get an intake that isnt made for our cars. so you have just wasted that money.
second, on your comment on the home depot intake. i want to specify for all the newbies who are gonna come on here, take you idea, and run to home depot. you will need industrial strength pvc pipe to do this. the regular pvc pipe will melt under the heat.
i wouldnt say that the intake does nothing. it doesnt do much, but it does help out a little. it gives you better gas mileage, and your butt dyno will feel a difference
and Elchicoloco, the whistle you hear is just the air passing through the pipe. the stock piping had a resonator in it to reduce this sound to where you couldnt hear it. and of course, an intake does not have the resonator so thats why you hear it now
