i'm trying to find out if i'll have any rubbing problems with 16'' slipstreams on my 93 hatchback. this is just one of the things i've used for proof. http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html first, i KNOW that the 15'' slipstream with 205/50 tire will fit fine, with it lowered. here (http://www.jdmcivic.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=633&perpage=15&pagenumber=1) so, on the tire calculator, i put in 205/50/15 & 205/40/16. now concering wheel/tire diameter, the 15'' turns out smaller on the calculator. as for tire/wheel width, they are both 205 tires. so what im asking is this valid proof that the 16'' will fit fine? thanks much

Offset.
The 205 usually does not cause troubles, but if your offset is too low you will rub, regardless of 15-16"
If you have a 42-45mm offset either the 15 or 16s will be fine.

well the offset is +40 for both the 15'' and 16'' and i know the 15'' fit fine with 205, so wouldnt the 16'' fit ok also if the tire is a 205?
fyi. its 15x6.5
16x7

Yeah it will be the same because you are not increasing the overall diameter. even though it is 16" your tire profile and width are still the same, so just make sure your offset is right and you'll be home free.
