What wrong with Sony?

Ok. I just got my new speakers installed which are the Kicker component KS65.2, the KS48, and KS60. They are hooked up to an old amp I've had from my Camry. Its a Crunch V-sreies 300 watt, 4-channel. So, in my Camry I had all Xplod speakers. But after hearing these Kickers in my Blazer I was amazed at how much louder and clearer they sounded and this is with a factory stereo ( I also had an Xplod head unit in my Camry) The subs right now are two 12" P5 Xplods hooked up with a 800 watt Xplod mono amp. Right now those subs really hit hard and clear as well. They did not sound like this in the car obviously cause they were in the trunk. They shake the hell out of the entire truck. Maybe its the enclosure ( its ported w/plexiglass) I don't know. But the sound quality is great. But after hearing all the stuff about Sony I was thinking of saving up for some better subs. But I am wondering, if the sound quality was tremendously noticable with the switch from Sony to Kicker speakers will the same happen with switching the subs as well. Because I was listening to the stereo at full volume and there was no distortion of any kind and it really sounded great. That was an hour ago and my ears are still ringing. Am I crazy or can the sound actually get better and louder with different subs.

You have a pair of xplodes in a prefab bandpass box and you say the sound quality is great?

You've got a long road ahead of you, and it can only get better from here. Start by ditching both the Sonys and the bandpass (mainly the bandpass) and get something decent. The difference you notice will be at least as good as in your mids, and if you move to something better than kicker (which a lot of stuff is) then it will be even more profound.

Sony has never had "great" sound quality, first of cheaply made, quality control is not so good. The amps are so overrated for power that kids here think that 500wattsx2 is 250 rms for each channel when its really 50watts rms x2. The headunits unless your willing to spend over 500 are PIECES OF SHIT.

If you want good sound for a decent price then i would suggest and yeah this isnt the best but its sure as hell alot better than sony or kicker. 2-12" infinity subs either kappas or perfects, i had 2 that sounded amazing and hit real nice in a sealed box, fuck prefab home made is the best way to go. They had 150 watts each. As far as amps any thing is better than sony mtx has awsome amps profile has good ones for a real good price. Speakers i got a set of mb quart difference between night and day opposed to sony and such brands, infinty has nice ones too.

And headunit panasonic has a real bitchin one 60 watts rmsx4 not peak like most, alpine has good shit too, and clarion is fucking awsome too. Just remember this if its sold at walmart it isnt worth shit that goes for sony, pioneer, lightning audios low end shit, and rampage or road master arent worth the time to even look at. Yeah the stuff i listed isnt the best but is a hell of alot better than more than half the stuff on the market. Just remember any thing audio is 90% opinion as far as sony they just suck.
