Hi, I'm getting a 92' Integra LS from my dad which is bone stock and i was wondering which engine swap would be basic and easy to fit in it or if the stock engine is good enough.
Thanks in advanced.

depends how much you have, i think the b18c1 from an integra gsr, or the motor you have would be nice to upgrade, its up to you. the motor you have has 140hp and 126tq non-vtec, the gsr motor has 185hp and 127tq Vtec. that swap would be about $3500.

it could be less if you just swap the motor and not the tranny

Well the thing is, my dad was thinking of scrapping it, but he decided i should get it as my first car. He mentioned there was some engine problems with it so i'm just seeing what my options are if i were to get a new engine. Would the engine fit with the existing tranny, or would there be problems? I'm not really looking to mod my car yet and be crazy so i just want something affordable and convienent. Thanks guys

a b18c would bolt up to your stock tranny

What are you gonna do with the LS motor if you get rid of it?

I like that idea, but I want just a bare LS block, no sense in building an LS/VTEC for turbo with the old stock internals...

Good point huh...LS/Vtec? Sounds interesting...it wouldn't last long if i did that with my engine though huh?

If i do get the b18c1 would i be able to mess with VTEC to kick in a little bit earlier?

VTEC controler could do that for you... but I've been told its best to tune for best results. If you engage VTEC to early power is lost, to late and your ass is smoked...

Hmm so i guess Honda already set it where its best needed. But i don't think i would rev that high normally so its not that necessary huh?
