Thats gotta feel good.. Imagine having, like a chevy lumina/ford taurus/maxima (non-se)/mitsu mirage/toyota corolla etc... Basically any car that looks COMPLETELY like a grocery getter... You pull up to an 05 vette....race...and you blow his doors off..doing atleast a mid 10sec 1/4......!!!!! :grinno:

Lol, this is ofcoarse sparked from my encounter with the 05 vette. The main reason i was pissed was cause this dude was UGLY and his girl was HOTT... I'm not conceaded...but i owned this shmo on looks....not horsepower... Anyway...off of the ego trip... I would love to do this one day if i have the extra $$$...most of the time, i spend it on my system....-Thats a disease in itself. :evillol:

Like the non-SE touch on the maxima bit, way to save your ass...j/k...actually a bone stock 5-speed GXE is faster than my car, simply because they have less fluff, and have 15 inch steelies, instead of heavy ass 17 inchers like I do...oh well, at least the GXEs handle like crap.

well i just ordered my smaller SC pulley, which should get me into the 13's. So ill have a 13 second econobox grocery getter.

... its boring! i've ridden in my buddie's VR-4 Galant a few times and absolutely nobody turns their heads except in disgust at the o2 dump...kinda sucks

sleepers are cool if you can get others to notice you somehow. it's hard to catch a race in a grocery getter.

To have the perfect sleeper..you have to look 'sporty'...yet unassuming.

Just started my Ssleeper.... 92 carice wagon 4000 # grocery getter with hopes of low 14's. Hope to post as it goes along by fall i should be all good for quick trips to the grocery.

Hell around here a Civic with a body kit could be a sleeper 'cause most of them that's all they have.

Im in the same boat as the galant. Noone ever wants to mess with my SSEi, and when I do try to mess with them by revving next to them at about 30 mph my supercharger whine scares them off. Example, I was heading to work one day, when low and behold, a v-6 99+ riced out mustang. It had the whole shebang, altezaas, wing, vinyls etc. So i'm messing with them a little, they are kinda messing back. We both pull up as the front cars (hell, the only cars) at a red light. Im thinking that they may try to go off hard, but know that it's a v-6 so i'll just take off normally and not have any wheel spin. But they didnt take off, they just putted along and paced me some more, so I got pissed and got on about half throttle, boost kicked in to about 5 psi and the S/C really whined. Right when I did this they heard it or something and immediatly hit their brakes and wouldn't get next to me after that. I guess I scared them off with my supercharger whine.

Another story, I was on the way to work again, and I pull next to a late 80's camaro RS. It has an aftermarket exhaust, looks kinda beaten, but other than that I dunno what was done with it. We both pull from the light, I pull kinda hard, and he immediatly gets on it to pull next to me. (Guess I kinda suprised him). So we are pacing each other forever, trying to get a quick light. But nothing is going on, so I see my turn off up ahead, so next to him I just gun it from about 40 to about 65 just to see what he would do. He got on it I guess (hard to hear over the s/c whine) and kept up with me until I shut it down to turn. He got in the left turn lane (I was turning right) and flashed hsi brights at me. Dunno what that was for, can anyone tell me what the bright light flashing means? I'm such a newb at this :P.

BTW mods to my SSEi are 3.4 pulley, 180 tstat, and custom CAI. Soon to get a whole new exhaust, and either rockers or a VS Cam. Unsure on the cam/rocker setup.

There was a video of a Geo Metro that ran a 9 sec 1/4. It even did a wheelie. It was converted to RWD somehow.

my S/C whine has scared off a few races. Mostly just rice though. All the bigger cars actually want to race when they hear it.

my car looks like a sentra gxe but has the spec v motor in it. thats kinda a sleeper.
but not many people try to race me.. now in my gfs car (95' eclipse auto) i always get ppl tryin to race me.only problem is the eclipse might run a mid 17 on a good day.

I agree on the boring part...I used to think that when a owned a 91 olds 88 (my first car), but now that I can afford good looking fast cars, i look back and think "eww why did I want that". Now all i want is speed and good looks in a car...and can anyone guess why i want that?

What are the stock times for these cars? Compare them to that number and you will see a significant improvment. With more resuorces I don't see why these babies couldn't get into the 12's
