yep, you'll still have to pay a monthly price to some ISP, plus you'll have to get the cable internet installed to your house. The only advantage to buying that modem is that the monthly price you pay will be like $3 less since you're not leasing a modem from your ISP.

that's the modem i have. if you sign up with an ISP for cable internet service usually they give you a modem, that's the one i was given for free.
