Rim mounting probs for 95 Convertible

Hi all. I'm new here.
I was hoping someone could help me.
I purchased 16" OEM firebird chrome 5-spoke rims from a 1998 T/A. I was placing them on my 1995 firebird convertible and the front rims fit perfectly as I swapped out my 16" rims for the chrome 16" rims. But in the rear, they wouldn't snap on the hub or lock in place??? What can I do? I was assured, by several places, that these OEM Pontiac T/A 16" chrome rims would fit any 93 to 2002 model-- with no problem. The guy who was helping me mount them on said it looks like the rear wheels were a problem maybe because of the drum brakes I have on the rear? He said there should be converters or adaptors for these rims so they can fit on firebird models with rear drum brakes, especially since they fit on the front of my car perfectly. I am a bit stumped as to what to do. Any help would be so appreciated.
Thanks

If they fit the front. They have to fit the rear. Whats it hitting and have you tried putting it on from all 5 different positions.

Okay. I tried it again. What happens is that the rim's center bore hole doesn't quite snap-on all the way over the hub on the rear like they do in the front. I tried wiggling, pushing, shaking, etc. I thought I had it at one point, but the rim had a 1-inch play from forward to reverse when I moved it with my hands. I took the center cap off to see what is going on, and the center hub is definately what's conflicting with the rim's bore center where it should lock in place--exactly the same on both sides! However, it looks like the same size--it can't be off by much--if it is off. I did notice that these rims have two slots opposited of each other in the center bore's lip that are on all wheels about 1/16th in on the back of the bore hole. My regular rims have this lip as well, but no slots that twist and merge into the the lip of the bore. Any help would be great--I am continueing to try. Thanks

Really weird--but I think I discovered my problem:

Apparently, I will have to get a metal file and shave off about 1/32nd of an inch off the back rims.

Well, I sanded down the alluminium bore about a 1/32" of an inch on two rims, and they fit perfectly now on the rear! Thank goodness.
