EPA wants to impose emissions regulation on 50cc engines.

The EPA wants to force 2-stroke engines off roads for good, and to doom ALL 50cc engines from being profitable to manufacture, or to be fuel efficient.
They will be imposing regulations in 2006, to make sure that vehicles that have accounted for less than 1% of all (on road) vehicle sales (yearly) in the U.S. are no longer posing a threat to the environment by getting 150mpg.
They want fuel injection, and catlytic converters. On engines displacing less than 50cc.
To become "cleaner" this means engines will have to rev higher, and breathe harder to produce the same ammount of power they had before the regulations - lowering fuel efficiency and raising the volume of green house gas emissions from the engine. :eek7:
Wow. Government at work, spending money and time to go backwards.
Luckily, the regulations are not retroactive, so your weedwhacker, and chainsaws will be safe for now (though I've heard that the EPA is even going to try and enforce the new regulations on model airplane engines! - hah - dumbasses).

The EPA has been working on this for over 2 years now. I can see it getting worse. Any engine that burns gas to produce power will fall under the new guidelines.
After this the EPA is going after the cows.

I got stuck behind one of those old subarus that you drive on the highway today. I was going nearly 80, and before I knew it I had this thing in front of me that was topping out at 45.

He wasn't topping out. He just knows that he didn't need to go faster than 45.

You probably do not know that the butts of dairy cows were discussed as pollution sources. They literally toyed with the idea of a catalytic converter-type device to control the methane from the farts.
The EPA is infested and run by the anti-everything extremists now.

hey, my 91 prelude gets a wonderful 35 mpg, thank you very much.
and while we're putting catalytic converters up cows butts, lets not forget to make some to fit into volcanos...

Funny thing is, even a '82 tercel pollutes less than a current H2, Escalade, or Ferrari. They should ban the grossly inefficient vehicles (because the volume of pollution created is directly related to the volume of fuel burned) before they start chasing our lawnmowers and hedgetrimmers.

I'm going to stick with my argument. If there's a hole in the ozone, why can't I see it?

Why are you picking on the H2? It is the same truck as the GMC Yukon and Chevy Tahoe. The H2 is built on the C/K platform.

Hating an inanimate object like a Hummer requires a distorted mind. Be like the guy who put his money where his mouth is in the L.A. area. He vandalized an auto dealership's SUVs and started a fire. Now he's in prison. Come on be a man. Go to prison. We'll leave a light on for ya.http://www.emotipad.com/newemoticons/Wave-Hello.gif

Ozone is invisible. :iceslolan:
-edit- OK sorry, it's actually bluish. (Blue sky + bluish ozone = invisible)
