tamiya clear coat problem

I used tamiya clear coat over Mr.Color datona green and the clear coat turned out dull and cloudy. can I polish out the clear to make it shiny again?

Did you spray the clear in humid conditions?
Or very cold conditions?

Sometimes you can polish it out, it can't hurt to try.

I used it in the same conditions I always spray in. But it possibly could have been too cold for clear. It's winter and I spray in my basement.
Oh, how long should I wait to polish it out?

I left my clear for two weeks before pokishing if this helps

Yeah, polihing should do the trick. Give it a week or two to cure, once you're satisfied the clear is thick enough to polish.

Cloudy clearcoat points towards a too thick coat of paint.

Zanthrax is right, and adding more coats will not help, it will just seal it in.
Wait a couple days, if it doesn't become clear, strip and start over, or sand through the clear to remove the cloudy parts and re-shoot. I'd probably strip it... - Mark

:iagree: Best thing would be to strip.

I had a similar problem yesterday (with smoke paint been too dark on carbon fiber)

Rubbing many time with automotive coumpond removed all the smoke paint for me and didn't hurt the CF decals.

you might try it before stripping everything
