auto trans stock in 3rd gear

i got a 3000gt sl auto but the trans is stuck in 3rd gear recantly i did a trans flush and a trans filter cause it was slippin now its just stuck in 3rd gear what the hell is goin on maybe i should do another trans or need a new trans what do u guys think please help thank you.

the problem you speak of it not unheard of. but as you read the thread, listen to the responses of Hotshot8792, he knows what he's talking about.

if you dont have a datalogger to pick up the codes, this is one of the few times i would recommend taking it to a shop or the dealership. When the tranny is thrown into failsafe mode, the transmission control unit is throwing codes so you would need a datalogger or a diagnostic reader to be hooked up to the diagnostic port so pick up the codes. Once they are picked up, you can find out what exactly is wrong with the transmission by looking up the code numbers in a service manual.
