Hi! just wanted to add some info about myself to help keep anybody who is kind enough to try to help me know what they are getting into. On a scale of 1 to 10, what I know about cars would rate about a 1.5, so the kind of questions Im liable to ask could be the kind that make you head for the shot glass and the Jack Daniels. Ask yourself: "would I voluntarily undertake to explain car repair to someones grandmother?". I own nothing but pathetic elderly vehicles with all the quirky little problems those vehicle are heir to. This is not because I am amused by or interested in these quirks. I own them because I cant afford anything else, so please try not to make your answer include the phrase "take it to a mechanic" if at all possible.
On the plus side, on June 6, 2006 at 6:06 am, my sister and I plan to start a road tour of Route 66 in a '66 Mustang(yet to be purchased). from Chicago to LA. Ill probbly be asking Q's about mustangs as soon as we acquire one.
This is a great site! a friend of mine (who is trying to find the money for a '66 Chevelle so he can go on the tour) pointed me in this direction. It's so nice to see people just sharing what they know and helping each other!

Welcome pixieil to AF! That was an interesting story. Good luck on your road trip, and in finding a Mustang in the meantime.
