I have a 2002 Alero. When the turn signal returns to the centre position, the tick-tick sound keeps going (fast). Its like a bulb is burned out, but that happens when you are using the turn signals. My ticking sound is when the turn signals are NOT being used.
I replaced the hazard switch, which is also the flasher. Problem persists.
Apparently there is a recall for the 2001 models, but my dealer told me there is no recall on my model.
Any suggestions?

I have a 2001 Alero GLS. I'm having the same fast tick-tick sound that happens when I'm NOT using the turn signals. My car has 73,000 miles on it and it's out of warrentee. Does the reacll still apply??

Hello,
I have Alero 1999, and have been same problem .My question was #103,153
this is no under recall and no hazard switch . I have scematic of
hazard switch and I will try find this problem when will be no so cold.
I think problem with contact of power to hazard switch or hazard switch connector .

My 99 alero has the same problem. It is currently in the care of GM Goodwrench Service to which they state it is the Master Function Switch. The part costs $136. Hope this helps (me and you!)
