Crack in Liftgate

2002 Ford Explorer XLT - 4 dr
Since my liftgate cracked,just under the glass beside the Ford logo, I now know that this is a common problem.
I asked my dealership yesterday to fix it and was told it was not a warranty item. Even though there is a TSB from ALLDATA citing the problem.
I plan on pursuing this matter to small claims court if necessary, but would like to hear from anyone else with the problem.

mine cracked also. i have not read the TSB, but it says if the car is cold and you wash with hot water the plastic shrinks faster than the glue used to hold it in place, there fore the crack.

Be careful...mine never had a crack but broke upon opening and glass shattered into a billion pieces. The funny thing is I had this repaired under the recall and it still happened! Ford is not taking any responsibility and will not pay. I am prepared to laywer up as well!
