Im hopeing to get an ex-cop LT1 caprice from a friend of mine and i was wondering if there are any good ways of reducing the weight to make it a better match against a LT1 camaro. The LT1 camaro weighs around 3250 lbs and the LT1 caprice is just over 4000. So the camaro would be around .85 sec quicker in the 1/4? i cant seem to find the stock 1/4 mile times of either so im not sure.

Also, I was told this car is basicaly a LT1 camaro with a different shell and i was wondering if this is true.
Thanks.

Its like a luxury camaro... and as for weight reduction, theres not that much you can do if you want to keep all the luxuries of a caprice.... Power windows, power locks, air conditioning... that will all reduce weight. You could also replace the steel rims with alloy ones. I encourage installing some peformance parts, such as intake, dual exhaust, headers if you can find some to fit. Make the thing a sleeper.

Yeah im in the process of lookin for a good sleeper. Probably would of gotten the caprice if it was a bit lighter. I definently want somethin with a 350 chev in it though. Got any ideas of a late 70's ot 80's car that might work?
