interior trim

Trying to pull the pillar trim piece off drivers side, between windshield and drivers window, but I'm afraid I will break the clamp. Anybody know how this trim piece is attached? Mine has the window defogger, seems to be held in place, afraid to pull to hard. Does this pillar piece just snap in or what?
