Cleared code, and air bag light is still on?!?

I just brought my 96' lantra wagon in to have a few problems corrected, one of which was to clear the air bag light that would continuously stay on while the car was on.
The tech. at hyundai went through all the codes, found the air bag light code, erased the error reading, and said it was good as new. I turned the car on to drive it home, and there was no air bag light on. Good.
I got home, realized I needed to go to the store to get some milk, hopped back into the car, and that stubborn air bag light was on!
Does anyone know what could possibly be wrong?

I would take the car back to the repair center, even if it's just a glitch in the system I would want to make sure my air bag system is operating correctly, my life is well worth the agravation of going back and getting it corrected, I hope yours is too. good luck and safe driving.

Strange, I know that the 2003-2004 Elantras are having a problem with the air bag light going off and thats due to the original manufacturer that made the sensors in the seat. (Its not only a Hyundai problem but other brands are getting the same problem), but I did not know it was happening to older Elantras. Maybe your air bag light is being caused by something else.
I would still take it back in and have them recheck it. Just to be on the safe side.
