Lol, this was to funny. :grinyes:
An hour ago i'm driving on sunrise highway...little traffic..4 lanes etc. I'm driving up to a red light where an 05 vette is already at (nice black one)... I get side to side with this guy (he's with his girl btw) and i rev my underpowered 4.6 w/chopped farmer john mufflers (autozone $10 chrome straights) to get his attention. He rolls down his window and he ask "what do you have done to that gal"...i say..nothing..all stock (which is true). So i tell him nice car, and his girl is smiling..so is he... Then i tell him let's drag it to the next light (atleast 100 yards) and he says in a nervous kind of voice "ok".. :cwm27:
Light turns green...i hit it full throttle while he probably didn't even half it...and he passed me EASILY.. He got 2 car lengths ahead of me when i'm at 30mph....i'm at 50 and he's gone....... I pull up to him at the next light and he told me he was nervous cause these days you don't know what people have done to there cars.. I told him good race, and i LOVED THE SOUND of your car.. He and his girl smile.....while i had my tail between my legs.... :eek7:
PS, he doesn't know i really did this cause i wanted to hear that LS2 roar....sounded NUTS.... Worth my suicide.. :evillol:

Not exactly. The LS2 makes its power at lower RPMs then the LS6s, plus it has a different bore.

C6 is the New Vette Chassis, the 6th generation of the Corvette in some 55 years of life. C for Corvette I'd assume, and 6 being the generation.
C1 1953 - 1962
C2 1963 - 1967
C3 1968 - 1982
C4 1984 - 1996
C5 1997 - 2004
C6 2005 - ????
LS2 is the second generation of the LS1, they bumped the displacement up from 5.7L (350 cubic inches) to 6.0L (366 cubic inches).
The Z06 had a upgraded LS1, called the LS6. Better intake, heads, a bit higher compression ratio, hotter cam, and better flowing exhaust.
I believe the next Z06 type Corvette in the C6 chassis might be called the Z07. Powered by a 7.0L (427 cubic inches) small block which maybe called the LS7. Derived from the Corvette Racing program the C5-R.
Rumored to be 500hp out of the box, probably be 'rated' at 450hp.

Read that someone had one on a dyno already. 500+ to the wheels. Of course, it would have been GM doing the dynoing though. But who knows.
I plan on hitting over 500 to the wheels with my 402, no reason this 427 shouldn't.

the only reason why i don't like the looks of the C6 z06 compared to the C5 Z06 is because its still a hatch back!!! the C5 Z06 was a coupe and that looked alot more menancing. i hate the hatch back vettes.

:( It doesn't look much different from a C5 Z06... doesn't have that "Dont fuck with me" look to it.
I'd still drive it though... hehe

That is a real picture though, alot of the design specs of the new z06 have already been splattered throughout most car magazines.
Oh btw, 11.7 stock. Yum...

This isn't even the 'supercar' Corvette you mentioned. The 'Blue Devil' is said to be that. :grinyes:

THE 2005 C6 CORVETTE hasn’t even been officially introduced, but the Corvette development team is already hard at work on future, high-performance variants, including a wild 600-plus horsepower Ford GT-fighter known internally as “Blue Devil.”
While chief engineer Dave Hill has publicly announced the Z06 version of the next-gen Vette due in 2005 will have 500 hp, his engine team wasn’t sure until recently that they could actually achieve that impressive figure. Sources now say that it will be a case of “nothing beats cubic inches” with 95 extra horses (compared to today’s 405-hp Z06) coming as a result of boring and stroking the next-gen Chevy small-block V8 to 427 cubic inches—7.0 liters. Not since the late-1960s has that magic number of cubes been under a Corvette’s composite hood (though there were some 454s along the way).
More important, Chevy is clearly investigating an ultra-performance Corvette designed to do battle with—and conquer—the mid-engined GT from rival Ford, as well as many supercars from across the pond. Called Blue Devil (no one knows why it has that name—could it be Chevy hopes to bedevil Ford’s blue oval?), unofficial stats make the name seem appropriate. Reportedly producing 625 hp, Blue Devil’s initial power will come from a supercharged 427 engine—and it will use lightweight carbon fiber for key body parts, reducing weight by several hundred pounds to drop the super C6 to about 2900 pounds.
The price indicated on the internal documents is $100,000 for Blue Devil, if and when it actually makes production in 2006—at the earliest. We wonder whether the Devil’s chances of seeing light are further improved following product czar Bob Lutz’s comments that he’d like to see a Chevy-badged car like the 2002 Cadillac Cien concept.
General Motors officials aren’t connecting the dots and saying this is a “go,” but the high-performance heart of Blue Devil is the kind of specialized, high-content engine project envisioned for the General’s new Performance Build Center set to open shop next year in Wixom, Michigan. The center is intended to attack projects with “a sort of race team mentality,” says Ed Koerner, vice president of GM Powertrain engineering operations.
Patterned after low-volume race shops, the center could build up to 10,000 powerplants per year for very specific, high-end, high-performance GM vehicles. Koerner says engines from the shop should appear in showroom vehicles by 2005.

It's wishful thinking to believe that the blue devil will ever be realeased although it would be VERY cool to see it. I like the new looks of the z06 but I still think they ripped off the srt/10 IMO. It's probably just me being a viper nazi but the hood scoop even more so the side of teh new Z06 is very srt reminiscant (sp?)
