I know several people have mentioned getting an older F2 or F3. IMO, fine starter bikes because of their light weight, comfortable riding position, and relatively low cost.
Anyway, a friend of mine bought this one last year for around $1400 w/23k miles. It had been laid down, possibly twice, and showed some neglect. So my buddy wanted me to fix it up for his spare/wet weather bike...

He scored a brand new red tank for like $125 on ebay along with used panels to replace all the other broken stuff then had it all painted. The new dash parts came from Honda. He got the Corbin seat, oversized Ferodo brakes, and sport touring screen all from ebay. Numerous other parts were replaced along the way.
Note:this rebuild could have been done a lot cheaper, but he's kind of a nut about his toys. I left quite a bit of stuff out. Ended up with a pretty nice spare bike.

Looks extremely nice, bling blinging. I think the book value just went up.

Bling blinging...LOL Yes, Greg likes some bling. His ZRX is a bit more eye catching than mine.
