Well Just a random topic starter

What would you do to your cavy if you had that kind of money?

I'd probably flip a coin and decide super or turbo that way. Maybe buy all the engine components I'd need to run more than 10 psi?

I'd prolly get some paintwork done too. Factory "Ultra Silver" Is okay... but something different would be in order... maybe pearl paints?

Bodykit I'd finally be able to afford. My gods the shipping on those is expensive.

Hell I'd prolly buy a new 3800 s/c for the and have the frame reworked so it compensates for the understeer of having a heavier engine in the front end.

hmmmmmm that's all I can think of at the moment. personally I wanna see what Noshun and CRJ and all the older members would do with the $$$

Inari.

First id sell the pos cavalier and go buy a real sport sompact say a civic or integra(yeah every one has them but cavaliers and sunfires are just as bad). After cost of car, turbo, bodykit, paint, wheels and so on your looking at about 8,000(dont believe me my friend has a 10 second crx and he spent only 4500 its sohc vtec turbo). Just stating my opinion.

Koni reds, Eibach Sportlines

Drift polyurethane kit

Exhaust, header

Programmer

Turbo, engine components (cams, etc.)

Racing seats, In-dash TV, painted dash, red carpets, streetglow underbody.

And that would bring me close to the 10k mark

I would buy a supercharged V6 engine and toss it in there, then do some jumping jacks. and with whatever money i had left mod that.

GotZ24
02-25-2005, 11:48 PM
all new internals, supercharger, nitrous kit and all accessories (purge, opener, heater, etc), carbon fiber hood and trunk, racing seats, coilovers, nicest strut/shocks i could find, rims, tires, lose the back seat and get a couple subs molded in, and a body kit.
that might be a little more than 10G's, but it's not like i got it, so i guess i'll keep going...
sway bar, full ignition upgrade, bigger brakes, bigger injectors, fuel lines, fuel pump, regulator, oh and how could i forget... the ebay turbo sfx!

big dude1
02-25-2005, 11:56 PM
id upgrade my internals, buy a stage 2 supercharger, buy performance clutch, and if i had enough left over, buy a nitrous kit

I'd put a 3.8L V6 in it then twin turbo it. Convert it to 5 speed and redo the drive shaft for rear wheel drive. then if anything is left get some rims and have my interior redone. I'd do the painting of the interior myself.

big dude1

theres a link somewhere on this site where they have a cavalier on ebay for 15 grand.... has a 454 with a blower on it.... obviously converted to rear wheel drive...

Damn straight... If my g/f moves to Georgia with her parents i will have to spend my money on my other love.. My j-body... she's the world to me... Ahahahahaha... Thats if i want to run about 9psi of boost, lower compression pistions. When i get done. It would basically be a brand new motor because i am a firm beliver if you spend the time to rip it apart, replave all the gaskets and what have you when your in there and not 1/2 ass the job.

ok here it is!

Strip out everything, down to the shell. Seam weld the entire body! Then T-006 Aircraft grade alu 15-pt rollcage bracing everything. Then two momo corsa carbon seats an 6-pt harnesses mount guages and switchgear on alu panel where dash should be no worry about form, all function here! Racing 8-gallon Fuel Cell in where the back seat once sat! Get some custom control arms fabbed up with camber adjust, and get a set of tein race coil-overs, although not made for cavs, make them fit! 16" Magnesium rims on R-Rated rubber. have carbon hood with vents for cooling made, front fenders but with vents on upper edge and slightly flared at the rear at the door edge and vented there, no splash guards in the fenders (the vents will allow for no inner fender drag or lift) , and carbon doors. Carbon front bumper with big main air dam and big vent as air feed 6" from the mac, with front spoiler, splitter, and canards, all functional and adjustable, of course. Rear bumper with diffuser and vent ducts for rear wheel wells- carbon, full carbon flat underbody, rear carbon deck-lid with integrated duck-tail spoiler (M3 CSL style) but with adjustable integrated blade, carbon roof panel riveted inplace (the less weight up top as possible!) 12" ceramic Disc brakes up-front with 6-pot calipers and carbon 10.5" rear dics conversion with 4-pot calipers kevlar pads both ends. (these will glow when used hard!!!) two brake master cylinders, one for front one for back for ultimate adjustability. New pedal box, floor mounted pedals. rear suspension overhaul to a 4 link system. Stiffer sway bars both ends. about 1.5" up fron and 1.2 rear. Toe and camber adjust incorporated into rear susp. lexan side and rear windows, not front. Laminated glass but new there! Integrated fire-extinguiser. Momo steering wheel w'quick release boss. full guage package. Engine: 2.4 LD9 bored out to about 2.5/2.6. High comp- 11:1 pistons custom if necessary (if a jap bike mfg made bike piston of a large enough bore i'd use them as the weigh f*ck all!) forged i-beam con-rods, balanced tuftrided and nitrided crank, no balance shafts, ultralight flywheel, triple plate clutch, w-41 head, ported planed and 5 angle valve job with oversized valves, solid lifters, no a/c, p/s (yes no power steering!) elec water pump, adj cam sprockets (www.jbodyperformance.com has these) modded to fit the W-41 cams. (.410" lift stock, that's enough!), brass valves and double valve springs with titanium retainers, LS1 TB, custom, huge fuel rail, 1000cc injectors, twin aeromotive fuel pumps, 100 octane race fuel (mosport 15 mins away sells it!!!!) custom titanium hi-flow intake manifold, short ram titanuim tube, thermo wrapped intake sited where batt should be, dry cell bat now in back air filter being fed by the air feed and surrounded by alu heatshield, gold plated, (not for bling but for it's heat dissipation properties!) custom titanium ceram coated header, straight thru side exit titanium dump pipe (screw the cat and noise i'll have the tickets!!) With all the engine work and lightening the reciprocating mass hopefully push the redline to about 8500 rpm. Straight cut dog-gearset, lsd, upped final drive ratio. carbon drive shafts. Motor on solid mounts but set back further and lower for weight distribution, drysump, running twin oil filters for ultimate cleaninliness. fuel cooler, oil cooler, alu four core rad, lower temp fan switch. Well that's about it and hopefully It shoud be PRETTY quick around a circuit now!

Although more like $10,000 with another 0!

1997 cavalier z24 5spd

front mount intake, header, catback exhaust, hi flow cat, b&m short throw, motor/tranny mounts, GM supercharger, new engine internals to run at 10 PSI, centerforce dual friction clutch, adjustable coilovers, new 17s and Z rated tires, do some exterior work with the leftover money, and lastly the most important.... my RKsport windshield sticker giving it a whole 35 HP.

I think I might even wait for the 2.4 EcoTec to come out and use one of those as it's all Alu so will weigh a lot less! I believe that they have the same port facing as the 2.2 so intakes and exhausts available! and maybe I would has P/S after not having it for a week! Look how big my arms got!

A VQ35DE would run you a lot! Just for the motor and to put it in the Ranger would cost more than $10K even in US buhhhhdddeee! You'd need the complete running gear and sub assy's from either a nissan or Infiniti that has it! The VQ35 would be best! AWD! Although the VQ35DETT would be even better!

You could do up a 95 Eagle Talon Tsi AWD with an Eclipse conversion like this one and still have enough cash to up the stock 210 hp with a K+N filter and a manual boost controller so that turbo is hittin' 16 psi. I was even lucky enough to get some sparco seats thrown in the deal. That's where my first $10,000 went. And some people can resist the urge to modify more. NOT ME !
