98 tahoe

I have a 98 tahoe with a heated seat that does not work. I understand it is a common problem. I have pulled the seat and removed the seat cover I found a break in the blue wire that runs between the leather and the foam, I fixed the break.
Is the blue wire the heater element? There is also two grey
wires attached to a small disk which has the blue wire taped across it is this the heater sensor? Any information about this
how it works and the wiring would be greatly appreciated.
