Clutch woes

Hello. I've got a little problem. About a week ago, the clutch in my 94 Accord (82,000, stock) got really soft all of a sudden and didn't have much pressure until a few inches in. It shifted fine, so I figured there was air in the hydraulic line or a leak. Well, like an idiot I didn't do anything about it, and a day or so later it had no pressure until the pedal almost hit the floor. It wouldn't go into gear while the engine was on. I'm at school, so I have no tools or room to do anything, so I called a guy randomly out of the phone book to come get my car and fix it.

It supposedly takes this guy three days to find the slave cylinder, and finally when its ready, I pick it up and he tells me both the master and slave were bad and they were replaced. I highly doubt they both would fail at the exact same time, but what can I do. I just think they ordered the slave without even looking at it, and then realized it was the master. He also charged me 2.5 hours for labor, which I think is a ripoff, but again, the damage was done. So I pay him way too much, and get in my car to drive home, and lo and behold, there's still air in the line, maybe an inch or so of no pressure. So I go right back in there and tell him he has to bleed it again and he gives me some bs about drive it a few days first, and if the air doesn't magically disappear, he'll do it 'no charge.' Gee thanks. And thanks for the stain on my seat and now my car smells like airplane glue. It was late, I wanted to get home, so I left, figuring I'd just have to go back this weekend and waste some time.

But now, I just got in my car, and the pedal is all the way down again, same exact situation as before when I could not put it into gear. So is there a possibility there is something else going on here? My clutch didn't really slip or anything before. I'm just assuming this guy botched the job, and for obvious reasons I don't really trust him. I'm going to have to bring it back to him, since I already paid to have it fixed. Before he tries to sell me a new clutch and 48 hours to put it in, is there anything else this could be? My mechanical knowledge only goes so far. Thanks!

It's possible both went bad at the same time. The slave was probably leaking, and bottoming out the master can damage it if the fluid is dry.

Those can be hard to bleed, but it sounds like it started sucking air in or leaking somewhere again. Did you check the fluid level?

If you pump the hell outta it with the cylinder full, it might bleed itself enough to drive it back to him. But something's definitely not right, and it's still a hydraulic problem, sounds like.

Might have a hole in the line. Some of those got pretty rusty underneath, depending on where you live.

I just looked at it again, there's no fluid noticeable on the ground, and the resivoir is full to the top, and the fluid is milky. Now I'm confused... the first time the resivoir had completely drained.
