Downshifting/Performance Chip

When i am passing my trailblazer will not downshift to the right gear (it seems like). For Example...going 50 then floor it and it shifts down to 3rd (?) and the rpms go up to only about 4,000...this is not adequate power for passing at times...it seems like it would shift down to a much lower gear...at other times when i floor it the rpms will go to around 6000...for example when i floor it while going 35 or when going 70 but not when i need the power the most...for passing

would a performance chip such as a jet chip or a hypertech chip solve this or do i have a transmission problem or other problem?

Best bet is to e-mail one of the "chip" companies & ask them about your dilema. I don't have the inline 6, so I can't help you out with that.......

But, what I know about the hand held programmers is that you can adjust shift points & shift firmness if you like. You can adjust a whole bunch o stuff on them & get a supposed 20HP boost from it that you will definitely feel. Do some searching through Google & see what you can find for performance enhancements for the inline 6. See if something is out there that will help you with your deal.
