I have purchased a wrecked 2002 Buick Lesabre Custom to rebuild. It has been delivered now and I have only 1 key. All the lights work and fans and everything. It was a high front right hit. I did not get any key fobs with it. I put the key in and everything works, then turn the key to start and absolutly nothing. No clicks, no starter, like there might be some factory anti theft thing. The batt. is up. I am a body man not a computer guru. Is there something I do not know or what. Thanks

If you have a light - "Security" flashing or your key has a special chip in the shank of it, your car has a factory anti-theft feature in it. The no-start behavior you describe would then be normal and due to this system if your car can not read the key. The chip in the key has a measured resistance. The car must read this same resistance in order to start. Try giving the key a good cleaning. A dealership or qualified locksmith may be needed. I also understand that only the starter circuit is disabled by this feature. Other people have started the car by jumping the right posts on the starter.
