sputtering

I just bought this Aurora and am having a problem with it. When I am at about 40-45 MPH and slightly on the gas the car seems to sputter really bad. Also in this same situation when I press on the gas it doesnt respond until I press hard enough to accelerate, which is when the rough sputtering starts. Any suggestions?

I had a similar problem in my 95 Aurora. I had no power and sputtering at low and high RPM's but not all the time. It turned out that a coil pack was bad. Have those checked. You can do it yourself, but I'm not 100% sure how.

the trouble codes before i bought it said that it needs a knock sensor and an oxygen sensor (bank 2) not sure what bank 2 is

yes i am. im changing the spark plugs right now. the air cleaner was so plugged you couldnt see a halogen light through it. hopefully this does it. if not then its off to the knock sensor and O2 sensor.

use throttle body cleaner and a toothbrush to clean the MAF. Steer clear of carb cleaner (I was told that it is not good for the engine).
That should really help you out.

i change the plugs, air cleaner and adde fuel treatment for the injectors. seems to be better. the air cleaner was so dirty that you couldnt see a halogen light through it.
