reliability

i know the regular escorts were really reliable, how is the gt? is it just as good.

better. but thats just me personally. the "normal" escorts are ford motors, a 1.9l sohc engine. the gts, are a mazda motor that ford paid money to slap their name on, its a 1.8l dohc. I would go with the gt, but different people have different opinions so many may disagree. but I beat the hell out of a 1.9l ford and blew it to crap. then I got a 1.8 gt and my friend was the previous owner, he beat the hell out of it, then I got it and I beat the hell out of it. had to replaces trannys, not the engine. 150,000 miles and the most that is wrong with the engine even with all the racing and literally drving the car how you should never drive a car, and all it has is a small oil leak or burning it, im not sure which one.

the GT is as reliable as the regular Escort but w/ a more reliable motor

ok i know someone that might buy one... i dont think ford has to pay mazda money for that motor... ford owns mazda but maybe they didnt back then idk. lol those 1.9 motors were pretty reliable to, i have one with 240k on it and it still runs and me and my bro both beat the shit out of it since it had about 110k when we bought it.

ford doesnt own mazda, just a part of it.
