Do You think the transmission mount bolts are just loose or something

mine came loose. I tightened them up and it was good as new. it happened again though...time to get a new one.

Dumb question, do you have like something heavin in your trunk that slides around? Do you hear the same sound when you slam on the brakes? If so, sounds like something is loose and bouncing around. If not, goto a good mechanic and ask 'em to take a look.

I literally could be anything on your car from a u-joint going bad to a loose suspension component. There is no "only" answer.

Most likely thing is the tranny mount. Dont bother tightening it just replace it if that's what it is. Could be your gears too.

it's the transmission mount (like so many have said already). my friend broke three of them by doing neutral drops from a dead stop. if you're gonna keep driving hard get the 'poly' material mount.

Tranny mount, motor mount, U-joints or rear end as has been mentioned but I would bet it was your tranny mount.

same problem.. jacked it up and my tranny mount was shredded. GM uses a cheap rubber mount, it gets by for awhile, but you should probably upgrade to a polyurethane mount. got mine for 30 bucks, i think i ordered it from www.lmperformance.com

thanks yall for the help but i was wondering if i would neeed to use a car lift to see the transmission mounts or can i just crawl under my car and get to them from there.i can fit

if you can fit, it's located about halfway down the doors in the middle of the car.. should be attached to a crossmember that runs from the sides of the car. If you want to check to see if it's loose, bring a big screwdriver or something to pry it with and wedge it in there and try to wiggle it around. mine had a little play in it, but wasnt too bad..

Use a jack and then put it on stands. or invite Lil Marcus/Korndogg/Ridgerunner over they are thin enough to fit under there.. Good Luck
